Douglas Youth Baseball and Softball League steered families toward two off-season development camps for young players this week.

YOUTH LEAGUES -- The Douglas Youth Baseball and Softball League promoted its "Summer Baseball Development" clinics, run by Evo Sports Clinics, held August 3-7 at Shrewsbury High School. The league describes the sessions as designed for "serious young players who want to build real, game-ready skills," featuring structured hitting, fielding and throwing development along with "competitive drills that translate directly to game situations."

The league also flagged an upcoming Worcester State University Nike Baseball Camp, set for August 10-13 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for players ages 7 to 13. Run by the Worcester State baseball coaching staff, the camp groups players "by age and skill level" and offers instruction in hitting, fielding, pitching and base-running, along with competitive games, team activities and end-of-camp evaluations and awards.
