Select Board Refers Three Zoning Bylaw Fixes

Select Board · Meeting of September 15, 2026

Douglas resident appeals to state over withheld records on ousted town administrator. David Millett, founder of the Douglas Citizens United Community Group, told the Select Board he has filed a formal appeal with the Massachusetts Supervisor of Public Records after the town denied his request for records explaining former Town Administrator Matthew Wojcik's July suspension and resignation, saying "transparency is not a luxury, it is a law." The board also declined to exercise its first right of refusal on three Perry Street extension lots, referred three zoning bylaw amendments to the Planning Board ahead of a September 23 hearing, and accepted a $49,684 state 911 grant. Members raised concerns about a Department of Conservation and Recreation bid for 9.27 acres off Southwest Main Street, questioning lost commercial tax base along Route 16.

Contracts approved included $5,049.47 for Code Red and $7,420 for ChargePoint EV chargers.
