DOUGLAS — October 14, 2025 — Douglas Open Space Committee awaits $26,000 T-Mobile trail grant decision expected by late November. The committee, chaired by Sue Perkins, confirmed that Secretary Becky Callagher and member Kathy Schindler-Richards submitted the expanded application — up from an earlier, smaller request — covering trail signage, kiosk fabrication by Chimper Homes, three trail counters, two docking stations, and a three-year analytics subscription for the Keevan conservation property. Members agreed to devote their November 18 meeting primarily to drafting a conceptual budget before requesting a dedicated municipal appropriation, with alternate Dick Skinner arguing the ask should be no less than $10,000. Top capital priorities are two bridges at Keevan and a bridge and boardwalk at the Leon Mazzynski Conservation Property. The committee also flagged that two land-related articles — a B Street riverfront donation and a Gilboa Street parcel transfer — may appear on the November 17 Special Town Meeting warrant without the committee having been formally consulted.
