Bank and Mortgage Entities Dominate Douglas Deed Filings in July

Douglas recorded 13 property transfers between July 3 and Aug. 1, but only one included a disclosed sale price: $154,580, recorded July 8 with Michael D. White as seller and Cornerstone Bank as buyer. Nine of the remaining 12 transactions listed a bank, mortgage lender, loan servicer or MERS as a party, suggesting many of the month's filings were mortgage- or servicing-related rather than conventional home sales. Cook Street had two transfers on the same day. With prices disclosed for just one of 13 deeds, the data does not support a conclusion about overall market direction this period.
